Newspaper Adds

OK
I just got off the phone with the newspaper company. I have been talking to them for 4 months and designing and re-designing my ad.

The add is a 2 column by 2 inch ad (About 2x4 inches (Business Card Size)).

They originally told be $96.00 for the free newspaper for the area that is 125,000+ papers.

I just got off the phone and they offered me a deal

FREE COLOR on the free newspaper and on another Paper (25,000+). And I also get my add in a 3rd paper (15,000+)

So me 2x4 add will be in color in 2 papers (150,000+)
and in Blk/Wht in another paper (15,000+)

So what is this worth???

Originally it was $96.00 a wk for the 1 paper in blk/wht

They told me $200 a wk for all 3 papers 2 in color.

Is This a good deal.

Please let me know

Coverage area?

The problem is that this has to be a large coverage area.

Is it a lot larger area than you want to service?

I would try to narrow it down to the area you want to service, if possible. If you get calls from out of your area, the ad is working but you might not want the business.

For the circulation, the price is probably not bad, but if 100,000 of the people are out of your area, it isn't a good deal.

I would probably consider staying with the original deal for more weeks for the same money rather than spending twice as much for the expanded coverage.

Any amount of advirtising costs are a good deal, if the advirtising brings in results. Are three newspapers covering the area where you want to get the work, the type of customer that you want to service??

ALL 3 OF THE PAPERS ARE FOR THE AREAS THAT I SERVICE.
AND I AM NOT AFFRAID OF MAYBE EXPANDING FURTHER FOR NEXT YEAR.

I already though of that but thank you for reminding me.
The ad is for weekly lawn care, ar=eration, and dethatching

I hope to get about 30 calls a wk

I am figuring 30 calls for a reas of about 30 town area.

1 all from each town per wk
I am hoping that I can seal the deal with 50 75% of the Calls
but no one can help me with closing the deals.

In my area most of the free papers are thrown away before they are read. I only advertise in them because the regular papers put your ad in there for no extra charge.
$200.00 a week sounds very expensive. I get good results running a business card size ad in the "Here's My Card' section. $25.00 wk. for this

I am going to try out a free newspaper in my area. It is a twice monthly direct mail with circulation to about 20,000 homes. I get a 2 inch by 1 column ad designed by them for $34 an issue. If I buy 4 issues I get 1 free. I'll give it a try and if I have good results I'll stick with them.
