Winter Plans / Thanks
This week signals the end of my business for this year. My first year is officially in the books. Many months back I wrote a "Discouragement" post and many of you were kind enough to say "keep going." (JDUTAH) Well, I kept going and ended up having the most profitable, fulfilling 6 months of business I could have wished for. Thanks again for the encouragement everyone!
The next 3 months will see me cleaning gutters with a friend's business, Disneyworld with the family and then a big push beginning my second year. I hope you all had a good year. What are you up to this winter? John "Ecoguy" |

This was your first year for organic? It sounds like it ended up strong. What do you think were your toughest challenges?

Eco I am also glad to hear things went well, just remember if it was easy everyone would be doing it If you want to see competition wait until you get to orlando, there is a landscaping company truck on every street you drive down, they are everywhere

Gee guys, you make me tear up.
It sounds like everyone is leaving here for the winter. I hope not; winter is the time I do most of my studying including time on Lawnsite.Ecoguy: glad you stuck it out and did well. We do full-service maintenance and had one of our most profitable years ever due in part to our addition of organic lawn care. We don't do snow work. Instead, it's almost time to head inside to the basketball courts for our other love, coaching. JD Utah: There's nothing better than being a Dad.........unless it's being Grandpa. Expecting our second grandchild and first granddaughter in the next week. Bill: When I get the OM up to speed on some more properties, I'll be interested in some more of your products.

Bill - Good advice. I'll remember that. Interesting about the saturation in Orlando, I'll have to keep my eyes open. DirtandHoops - Grandkids? I always pictured you as a younger dude. ha. One day we should all unveil the real us. Have a great winter guys. |
