Is there a calculator available for base and sand??

if you have Microsoft Excel, you can make your own.

1 ton of concrete sand will cover 200 SF at 1-inch depth.


For aggregate, lets say 5" depth - I use this:

LxWxD/12/27*1.2*1.5

So if you have a 20x20 patio with a 5" base it'll look like this:

20x20x5 = 2000 divided by 12 (converts the inches) divided by 27 (converts to cu yds) = 6.17 x 1.2 (converts to tons) x 1.5 (to factor for compaction) = 11.11 tons

Construction Master calculators are pretty helpful as well.

they can convert feet to inches and yards, square and cubic. areas of circles etc etc. all the math functions built in. as well as the Pythagorean theorem for squaring up.

this is my formula it has always worked almost perfect for me.

Length x width x inches of base / 240 if you want tons multiplied by 1.5 this accounts for compaction
