20 hp Exmark 52", or 23 hp Hustler Z 52" need some experienced imput.
I have decided on either the Lazer Z 52" 20hp Kohler, or the Hustler Z 52" 23 Kawasaki. I have driven both at the dealerships, but hard to tell what to expect under different conditions. Both are priced at about $7000.00 with tax. I am somewhat concerned that the Exmark would be underpowered with the 20 Kohler. Can some of you guys give me some experienced imput.

First off..... DEMO BOTH!!
I have a Lazer Z HP 52" w/23 hp Kawi.... I love it  Plenty of power, whether cutting tall grass, or running the Ultra-Vac. I believe mine was $ 7499.00 Considering I would be keeping the machine for some time, I was not going with anything less than all the power I could get.. Better to have and not need, rather than the other way around. I'm not familiar w/ the Hustler, So I can't comment on that machine, But I would definately buy an eXmark again!!

That 20 HP koehler will have a hard time with the grass in the spring.

I have a Hustler mini Z 52" cut with 23 Kawi. I love this machine !
Plenty of power, Excellent cut. If the Hustler has the Donaldson air cleaner on it like mine, then it's a no brainier for sure.
