Great pics
We used to backfill for years that way at my work till the engineers and city got together now we use a second excavator for bedding and backfill and keep the lead excavator trenching seems to work ok in a production environment |

What makes your pictures interesting is you guys still use the old school way of doing things. You don't see too many contractors use Gradalls anymore even the highways dept very rarely uses them now, years ago they were very common.

gradalls are pretty common here in the northeast ,especially with the union companys.....well at least what ive seen

Lots of great pics John, how do those old macks do? do they have much downtime? Have you owned them since new or did you build them? Any idea what it costs to do a restoration on an old RD?

thos trucks are nice. we bought them brand new. ran them as tractors for about 10 years then built the dump bodies in our shop and turned them into ten wheelers. they go just about anywhere. as far as rebuilding the last time they were done was in house so it wasn't too bad. they are real easy to work on. we have more trouble with the two granites then anything.

The Granite series trucks are tempermental, one of the companies that works this area has 4 of them all spec'ed the same but all have their own personalities. No truck shifts,steers or handles the same the drivers said it is like being with a different women you gotta learn what she wants
