Water leak thru firewall/windshield/heater 73-87 Chevy

Hello,

I have an 89 Suburban (sim to 73-87 pickup).

When it rains water fills the front floorboards. Is this a common problem with these trucks and has anyone fixed it?

Thanks. I have a new truck for lawns, this old truck is my plow rig so I'm not so embarrased to drive junk as if I were using it every day.

Hello,
Sounds to me like the rain drain/gutter is full of debris. When my dad's truck had this happen the water was comming in the "floor vent's" and we ended up taking loose the fenders and rinsing them out with a hose to get all that crud out. Once we cleaned it out we made a "screen" out of a piece of gutter topper and installed it underneath the cowl drain to keep this from happening again. We have had no problems since. On the other had I have seen them leak because of rust through. Hope this helps.
