Stihl FC55 Edger problems

Just pulled my Stihl Edger out for the season and found some problems. Wouldn't run properly so in goes a carb kit, new plug and made sure I was running fresh fuel. Unit starts right up then dies after idling for 2 or 3 minutes. Then it won't start or is next to impossible to start again. Unit is only 2 years old with approx. 10 - 15 hours use max.

Any ideas?

Remove the fuel line and look at all the cracks in it. Go back to
your Stihl dealer and talk warranty. Stihl had a large problem
with these units and should stand behind them, some lines didn't
even last a year.

Check to see if the gasket is OK on the crank case, some times they get leaky and then it won`t draw fuel very well , because 2 strokes need sealed crankcases to draw fuel. i`ve done this and its worked. I have a FS 55r trimmer its the same as ur edger but has the trimmer head . and i fired it up this spring and it ran good, this is my second season with it.
Hey Synner I see that ur from london I`m from clinton just north of you .

groovy, I'm going to check the fuel line for cracks and then look into the crankcase from there. CML glad to see some one local on the wild wild web. If this damn snow and ice ever quit we can get to work for the season.

cheers
