Newbie looking to freshen up the lawn

Hi all,

I live in coastal North Carolina and am looking for some help identifying what types of grass I have in my yard so I can make a plan for treatment this year. Can you help me identify the grass(es)? Thanks.

The first pic is a wide shot of part of the yard. Most of the grass is dead. I took close-ups of some of the green spots and the dead spots. Thanks again.

It's looks like Poa Annua,

Also looks like a dandelion

I don't think the grass is dead, just dormant. You being in coastal NC (zone 8 probably) and the grass being dormant means it's probably a warm season grass. My guess, and is that it's Centipede. Centepede can be nice. Doesn't have to be mowed as much or fertlized as much, but also not as quick to bounce back like bermuda. My Dad has Zoysia and my brother has Centepede. They look very similar when cut higher.
