Would the blades that come with the micro mulch system fit into this category? I use the micro mulch system in the fall and side discharge the rest of the time.

I tried gators on top and hi-lifts on the bottom last spring and didn't notice much of a difference, so I scratched the idea of doubles. I'm always up for a way to decrease double cutting lawns. I'm running a lazer w/ 25 horse kohler.

Thanks again guys

I really appreciate all of the great info. I'm gonna experiment with the ideas you mentioned.

my lazer cuts well with doubles. i run singles on normal spring
and summer grass and find that the cut is just as good, w less wk and less noise. i mulch with open chute, so if discharge is a problem and its not too wet, ill run highlifts and gators.
really just depends on conditions.for max vac a set of mulchers and high lifts, creates a super vac. but this can be bad for soil ,if the turf is not thick enough.i once sucked a metal meter cover
plate ,into my blades. not a good day.

We run double gators on our Exmark Metro. One of our mowers is an ancient John Deere 48", which has such a gorgeous cut with single gators that we don't run doubles on it.

I ran an Exmark Lazer awhile back that cut great with the stock hi-lift blades.

As was mentioned, you are simply going to have to experiment with your own machine, and also your cutting methods and types of lawns.

On vacation.

Part of my contracts with my customers state that unless there is excessive storm damage I do no work on their properties during January and February, so I've been vacationing.

Finally got some time on my hands after spring cleanups, fertilization schedules and estimating some new accounts. So I'm back to Lawnsite.

Good to be back. I was driving down the road the other day and I smelled that fresh cut grass smell! I was amazed, cuz I have cut a few yards already this season myself, I guess I just did not notice that smell. It was really good to smell that grass.

I'm ready for a good and profitible season, it's been a long winter.

God bless everybody.

Keep those blades sharp.
