So what exactly do you like? having to completely disclose your businesses private invoicing in detail or do you like having to give them hard copies of your financial records to every chump you employ in order to pay them a % per job. Or is what you like the total mismanagement of the business as a whole. Or is what you like the inadequate crew time management / supervision that is the cause of the problem in the first place. |

ok ask your self
How long would you work under that system. might be legal but can you keep workers.what do you do when they start bully and fighting each other to get the job done. your workers will end up hating you their co workers and bad mouthing your company to every one they know your customers will pick up on this. when they find out they can work in out of the weather and make more on min. wage with less stress you will be training new employees over and over again good luck.
I might be wrong but I have seen this before on jobs that were less physical . |

I suggest stronger motivated supervision together with really knowing your numbers. If you really want to part with your profit pay a simple bonus when they meet your goals. Remember what you said in your latest post "you are dealing with the mentality of people you hire that mow lawns for a living" These people more often than not will have no interest or understanding in your company but they will understand a bonus for meeting a reasonable goal. if you do anything read your post #5 again and as many times as it takes to see how silly it really is. |

You must be aware of the Fair Labor Standards Act which is a federal policy that protects employers from over working employees without OT.You can classify employees as salary but it cannot be a decrease in pay it must be an increase for example if an employee was making $10/hr x40hr per week =$400 the employee cannot make less then that. In NC that must be a supervise of at least two other employees and paid a minimum of $455.
