90s GMC Horrible Turning Radius?

I've got a question for the Chevy/GMC guys on here:

So I'm considering buying a mid 90s Chevy/GMC for my next work truck, but my only experience with them is from my Dad's old 94 GMC Sierra. It's the 1500, extended cab short bed, but trying to make a U-turn in that thing you'd think you were turning around a school bus or something, lol. It's impossible to make a U-turn in town without putting it in reverse at least once. Parking is also not fun. In the tight spaces of city driving, I can't imagine pulling a trailer with that thing. My brother in law was saying that he had driven that same model before and didn't remember it being so bad. So my question is, did they improve the turning radius within that same body style in later years or does the GMC have a worse turning radius than the Chevy or what? I'd appreciate some input on this. Thanks guys!
