Gotta admire the old timers. Worked like bulls!

The difference is, we have machines now. And instead of doing maybe 20 houses we have to do 100 just to pay for the equipment and the men that want 12-15-18$ an hour. Oh and then the gas, yeah machines make it easier but they make us spend 50% of our earnings.

Nevertheless I still respect my grandfather and my father for working before machines were made available. My dad still talks about his hedge trimming with scissors and mowing with the reels.

ya, my father still edges his landscape beds with a spade shovel. i even bought him a gas powered walk behind edger, but no, he likes doing it the ole fashion way.

i seen that and told my wife that thing is cool but a lot of work to use it. i would like to have that just to keep and give it to a new guy and tell him this is what we use and make him use it aalllll day

Assuming the height is adjustable or the turf is at the right height..that will make a maintained edge look better than most lco's ever could.
