Thfireman that is not funny in the least. Some serious damage or injuries could have occurred as a result of that "joke." I would have made a few phone calls to the construction company and the police to take care of that problem.

The driver of the truck is responsible for the trailer/hitch. Doesn't matter who hooks it up, the driver always has to go and check the hitch, AND the load on the trailer. We re-check the hitch basically everytime we load/unload.
