Pump Start Relay Problem?

Once installed a job with a weathermatic controller and after hours and hours of the same problem weathermatic sent a troubleshooter/tech company out and after more hours and hours they determined the wire sizing for the 24v to the pump relay was too small and causing an error w/controller. just a thought but maybe a bigger size wire for the jumper or even temp. move the controller closer to the relay to test.
