Remnants of a hydraulic system?

I picked up a new site a few weeks ago. We had to repair after they chain trenched across the whole property for new electric service. We spent about a day Fixing all the pipes and control wires and got the system going. Yesterday I got a call about a leak so I went by this morning and found seven 1/4" tubes with one broken pissing water out with no zones running. The tube said "toro irrigation solution" on it. I had no way of knowing where it came from so I just kinked it off. The house is really old but the current system seems to be within the past 20 years or so. Do you think they could have used the old main from a hydraulic system and converted it to electric and left some of the 1/4 connected somewhere? None of the control seem to follow the main.
