Seriously, I hate when that happens. Screws up a 5 minute head change. Unscrew the old, screw in a new one. Make a dry adjustment. Turn on water and the tard-bas is leaking at the screw-top. Thinking you can get out the driveway real quick, then you have to dig out the whole thing.

Usually I see the water gushing around the riser shaft when the wiper seal is shot.

and it's no simple job to replace the seals in a PGP.
You're much better off replacing the whole head with a 5000 that has a 5 year warranty. |

I never replace the seals. Remove guts and swap or replace the whole unit.
