We cut the elbow off. No bushing or adapters.

I do keep 3/4x 1/2" thread by thread adapters if the need arises.

The latest generation of 3500's with the rubber cover are holding up for us pretty well. We go through a couple of cases a month.

I recently installed about 8 of those and I was pleased how they worked but I wasn't expecting much. They seem to be way better than the hunter mini rotor.
