Growing grass is the simplest thing in the world...

for this time of year you can start overseeding and spot spray the broad leave weeds a few weeks before the ground freezes... You can 'pull weeds' anytime of the year.

Unfortunately, I have many mulch beds in yard and have seen grubs in and around them while putting in shrubs this summer and I have had lawn service put grub control down now for last to years at the start of July. However, I do not have grub damage, just a burned out yard. I had a friend over that used to work for local lawn care co. and he just said, hey you got burned yard, we havent had any rain, it was hot, you had a summer app put down, thats what you get.

You are aware that grubs in your mulch bed have nothing to do with your turf... correct?

I understand that, sir. However, in the first part of August we were digging to install lamp posts and saw a lot of grubs in lawn soil 30lf away from any mulch beds.
