$80 per 1,000 sqf includes labor, seed, starter fertilizer and lime if needed.

I suggest the OP doesn't listen to much of this.

These guys throwing out numbers/SF and numbers/1,000 are either used to doing 5KSF properties or they're fin with you.

Run those formulas on the 50KSF over-seed I'm doing, today. Think my customer's looking for a $4K invoice this evening?

Very true. Size of job, location of job, can make big difference. I think from the original question that we are talking patch work on an established lawn, current customer. No change in grading, or prepping for new lawn. Just get grass growing where there was gass before. Grass dead from some type of stress, or mechanical damage. If so, we use $ 0.16 per square foot. Plow damage, insect damage, kid pool, ect. Covers a little top soil, seed, fert, mulch, labor.
