switching to independent pto

cant get the lever to move! book says to have pto in neutral, tractor at idle and depress the clutch then push the lever in for independent. its set to ground speed now but i need independent for using the snow blower.

tractor is a new kioti dk90, any ideas??

First off I dont have the same tractor not even close but our PTO start up procedure is as follows.

1- engage rear hydraulics
2- lower the 3-point
3- engage the PTO lever
4- set engine speed.

Our PTO lever will not move unless we have done steps 1&2. So my thoughts are maybe you have missed a step.

Another thing to consider is that the lever is connected to a set of gear cogs if for some reason the PTO and the lever have misaligned the lever may be stuck.

Anyhow just a few quick thoughts on what it might be hope it helps.

After reading all of these questions you have it sure does make me love my e-hydro deere. That thing is FAST and NICE with two peddles.

picasso- id be all over a large frame hydrostatic drive tractor if the made one! I can run excavators, skids etc... but our first venture with an ag tractor has me a lil apprehensive, thank god it hasn't snowed yet

What do you mean by engage the hydraulics? My pto button is off, the lever selecting 540/1000 is in neutral, the dial that engages the auto pto (pto comes on when u lower the 3pt) is in neutral and the clutch is depressed and the lever in back still won't move

i know i wish i was in the 90hp range but the way ive got my 4720 set up and the way i use it makes money for me. Maybe someday i will try a smaller blower on it but for now i like it.

As I said different tractor different procedures, I'd just give the dealer a quick call. It's probably just a simple thing that they can help you over the phone with.
