120v to 12v retrofit

What is the best way to retrofit a 120v chandelier to 12v? This will be used on a temporary basis only, it won't be left in the landscape full time.

Thanks,
Joe

Change the candelabra bulbs out to 12 volt lamps and wire the fixture to your 12 volt transformer. That's it.

I have bought candelabra based 12v bulbs from several websites. just do a google search. be aware though, that 6-12 or more 40 watt 12 volt bulbs in a candelabra fixture can get you to a lot of amps in a hurry. I am guessing most 120v fixtures are not wired with that many amps in mind. most 120v fixtures have 16 guage wire or thinner inside. lots of amps makes wire hot and dangerous. be careful and do the math before you do this.

My local lighting showroom sells 7w 12v candelabra lamps from Westinghouse. I used them in carriage lanterns on a past project which runs dusk to dawn and are still running 2 years later. Definitely a quality product.
