Eaton 778 obsolete?

I have not one but TWO zero turn mowers with the Eaton 778-043 and the Eaton 778-048 pumps.
One pump has gone up and I need replacement parts. I have some good info on this forum and have part numbers and companies to contact.
I called:
Applied Industrial Technologies-no go
B.J. Hydraulics-no go
L.J. Fluid Power-said the pumps would be obsolete by the 1st of next month!
Is this true? He said that the mower would be pretty much trash because there would not be any replacements available and it is highly recommended that you do NOT open the case-you WILL have more problems if you do.
So both of these mowers will be trash once ONE of the pumps goes up?
Wow!
Should I get rid of this Bobcat Leo BEFORE I start having problems with the pumps?
Kiser312, can you help me out? I know you have rebuilt one of these. Is it very difficult?
Thanks!
