Topdressing peat vs. compost

Anyone have experience topdressing with peat? Any benefits over compost either in the biology or maybe it's easier to spread through topdresser ???? I'm curious on this subject.

I came across this company Peat Inc. out of MN. http://www.peatinc.com/ Curious to see what you think the pros and cons would on the two.

Feedback would be appreciated.
