That's why I weaseled a bit and said "can be" - I never had rental access to a quality machine, and it didn't surprise me, once I considered what happens when you take a machine for the sandy lowlands onto a rocky hilltop. Yards must have seen one machine beat to a pulp and said no more.

the yards were afraid of the liability , the burkeen b30 , the maxi with single wheels and the lm 42 all have high center of gravities , the rental yards were afraid of roll overs on people , they had them flip over quite often due to operator error .

I never saw a Ditch Witch VP12 or a Pipe Piper in a rental yard, and they have low centers of gravity.
