Just turned my Ad-Block plus off on my browser just to see how much advertising is on this site.

Needless to say, if I didn't have it, I wouldn't be coming to this forum very often as I would probably get ill from my eyes trying to process all the advertising and pop-ups.

Frankly, I'd prefer to see a few ads than add another monthly cost to my budget.

i dont think theres too many adds. but i think the placement of the adds is annoying. having to scroll down to get to the content every page is annoying. i woudl prefer soem of those adds be put in a different place. say inbwetween posts.

frankly they woudl get viewed and clicked more that way and people would not have to do so much scrolling.

No ads = no lawnsite. I cruise the different companies just to see what they have. Not to mention many advertisers give LS member discounts.

Don't get me wrong, there is a good amount of info on this site and it does wonders for the green industry, but it is the members that make it diverse and a wealth of knowledge.

It would be the death of LS if there was ever a subscription charge.

I bet that if you gave LS more money than John Deere does, then they would either put your ad up or maybe remove the JD ad (if you gave them enough). Try it JS. Let us know how it works out.

I'm surprised this thread has lived this long.

I've noticed that LS and PS are very quick to take down any negative comments towards the site and especially the ads.

I too block the ads because it takes 10 times longer to load with the ads versus blocked.
And I have high speed internet.
I wouldn't spend much time here for that reason alone.

If we were still in the days of dial up it'd take about 15 mins every time you needed to load a page.

I just want to say that I'm not trying to be negative about LS per-say, but more an open discussion as to what we see as the "consumer".

I like this site for information, and honestly I would turn my blocker off if it wasn't so darn annoying. The pop-up adds for sure have gotten out of hand (at least it feels that way being a member since 08), especially when you change from one Section to the next, such as to plowsite from here, or the design/build site that I frequent (which doesn't see the traffic since they segregated it from LS).

And it's a shame, because occasionally I turn it off to see what is offered, and I'm possibly passing by great products from the site sponsors not seeing it constantly.

All in all, I'm just saying it is just too much advertising bombardment that really gets to me. And to be fair is all around the web and not just here.
