Zoysia Grass Removal

I am doing a landscape job for a family here in town. They want some new raised beds throughout there front yard. They have Zoysia grass and want the grass lifted and moved to the back yard.

What is the best way to go about this? Just a square point shovel? How deep should it be dug?

Thank you in advance!

The nearest rental company is 100 miles. I do not live close to any.

Wet it down and remove with a flat shovel.
