Really a quick rule if your just starting out is charge double what the mulch cost without fabric and without removal of material.

Very helpful info. Little late but thats alright. I had to give the quote yesterday. This would just be a mulch install no new beds or bed clean out. Told her I would do the edging too if she wanted me too. She is supposed to let me know next week and I think I'll be doing her mowing too. The guy she has only weedeats once every 3 weeks and blows grass in her flower beds. I told her that is a big no no in my book. Thanks for the info.

Hey, just ask your customer what to charge. You should just stick to your regular job and let the professionals make a living.

I decrease as it gets more because I take I to account not using as much gas driving and not paying my guys to sit in a truck. I can make more charging less if the guys are not wasting time in a truck.
Two of my guys can typically put out 20 yards a day bringing in $950 after taking out the price of mulch. I could not do that driving around to 5 different houses putting out 3-4 yards each. I can almost guarantee you that you will not be awarded many jobs charging $8"+ a yard when you are putting out 30+ yds. Posted via Mobile Device |

when you guys say $65 per yard, delivery, and install you are paying for the mulch right?

Typically, I charge 2x my cost for work. I include the fuel it will take to get to the job, be used on the job, materials, multiply that by two and add for a labor cost for how long it will take! However, the labor you add to it has to take into consideration where you are doing business and with whom you are doing business. Ferrari in the drive adds to cost!
