dieing linden

Hello

I have 5 linden which were planted six years ago and are suddenly dieing off. They are planted in single file along a parking lot and had been thriving up till late last summer. These trees are in an elevated bed so too much water isnt the problem, and digging test show me the soil is moist a foot down so it probobly isnt lack of water. These were planted by a landscape contractor so I did not get a chance to see it the balls were tyed with nylon rope and never cut off. Is there a desease which would attach a group like this that anyone knows of? Thanks
