Fluid Film and 2x4 wood,can it work?

Hey Dano,since FF prevents rust,my question is this. If I were to take a 2x4 piece of wood and spray half of it and bury the other half will it stop the wood from getting moisture in it and not rot?

It would definitely seal out the moisture and help protect the wood from rotting.
