Need a little pricing help
The homeowner would like me to disassemble and reassemble (using existing block) correctly. They would like the curved section to curve out about 2' wider than it currently does.. then tie into the the side midway between the corner of the house and the basement window. Doing away with blocks running all the way down the side.
I need a rough idea of the man hours involved in this project and approximate cost of materials.. stone, fabric, drain pipe, etc. Thanks in advance for any help! |

Really.. 5 days with 3 guys? How do you figure?
I'm seeing the first day.. remove the wall, dig the trench and have most of the base in. Second day re-stack, drainage, and back fill. Anyone else care to comment? |

DVS. Seems like he does hardscape as primary business. I would listen to him.

Don't really know what to say.
What is your experience leveling block? What is your experience mitering block / caps? What are you using to load / unload the truck? What are you using for a truck?? How much clean up time are you planning per day? Whats your physical condition? How toned is your body to the job at hand?? What are you using to compact the base? How long a job will take my company is irrelevant to how long it will take a first time block stacker. We do this routinely with all the tools and equipment , no learning curve. If it would take us 3 days, with all the tools and no learning curve, and knowing all the in's and out's - it will take you 5. You do not know the tricks. Don't have the tools. And so forth. Good luck and be sure to post pics on your Facebook page for all your friends and family to see ![]() Posted via Mobile Device |

For a first time, you will spend at least a day leveling your first course with no changes in elevation. It takes time and patience and unless you have done it before, it's going to take a while.
That wall steps up in multiple areas. You will also need more blocks by the looks of it. Make sure you look into this before you start in case you can't get exact matching colors. It's going to look silly if you have to use all new blocks on the top tier and they're a shade off.. You're better to blend it in somewhere like around a corner. |
