help please, Kohler 27 hp losing power and running rough

Well I got the mower back from the shop Friday afternoon. They said the carb was dirty, so they cleaned the carb and put on a new fuel filter, and this cost $87. I started mowing with it Saturday about 9:30am. It worked great until my third yard about 12:30, and it started doing the same thing it was doing last week. I was just cruising along and all of a sudden the rpms dropped and then the governor would make the rpms go up and down like in the end of the video. After a few minutes of idling up and down it smooths out. I let it sit for a few hours while I used my walk behind and tried it on another yard and it did it again after about ten minutes. So I'm taking it back to the shop Monday... anyone have any thoughts on what could be causing this?

I vote for a bad coil.

As soon as it gets hot it starts to cut out one of your cylinders.

I had mine go bad on a single cylinder command 16. Would run for a while till hot then start spitting and sputtering. I shut off the blades and let it idle and it would idle fine. as soon as I put a load on the motor it would start acting up again.

Ok so I picked the mower up Friday. They said they did the same thing to it they did the first time, clean out the carb, and they didn't charge me anything this time! They said if it happens again that they will have to replace the carb. The only other thing different this time is I put some Cheveron Techtron fuel system cleaner in the fuel before I took it to them. I mowed 11 hours yesterday and not a single problem from the mower!!!

Glad you got it fixed..I have this same motor/mower....Mine is not charging the battery...(battery is new).will mow fine till the batter runs down..Then i have to charge it .Could it be the regulator?
