Whos running the new Dixon ZTRs?
I am looking to get a 60" ZTR next year or maybe this year. My first choice is a John Deere, I have owned 3 now and all have worked very well. I have a Z925a right now, 54" deck, 27hp kawi and i am really happy with every part of this mower. Just looking for something bigger, 60" with at least 29hp kawi. My second choice is Toro or Exmark, but they are quite expensive. My 3rd choice (which i know almost nothing about) is Dixon. Just saw there ad in a lawn magazine this year and it has really caught my attention.
So what i am wondering is if anyone is running the newer Dixon ZTRs, and how they like them? My main concern is cut Quality and speed of cutting. I like to go fast, but make it look perfect while doing so. My JD does a good job of this. Thanks in advanced, Jimmy P.S. I searched and did some reading on dixon before writing this.

Be aware that the whole Dixon brand name will probably disappear in the next year or two. Husqvarna is simplifying their lines of mowers and consolidating everything under the Husq. name. Just this year, the Yazoo-Kees namebrand was closed out. The Dixon line is next on the chopping block.
I am sure there will be good deals offered on remaining Dixon mowers until the inventory is sold out. Husq. will continue to have parts for a while, but they may all be painted orange when you receive them, instead of blue. I have been told that the phase out is already planned, but may take a while to complete.

Thanks for that info. Doesnt worry me much, as long as parts available and as long as someone makes blue spray paint

That is exactly how I would look at it, if I liked the machine and the price was right.

Dixon's commercial machines are essentially the same as Husq's machines.
I think for the most part a lot of guys like them. I wouldn't hesitate pulling the trigger on a new gen Dixon commercial Z, you may get a great deal on one!

I got two. The 2011 200 series is the same as the husqvarna Pz except it dont have solid tires, isolated rider platform, suspension seat and has the hydro gear 5400 trans axle instead of the hydro gear pump and wheel motors.
The 100 series has the same frame as the 200 and Pz. The deck is different its doubled 11Gage were the 200 is 7 Gage. The 200 has 10 inch cast iron spindle house with lifetime warranty the 100 is cast aluminum. They both cut really well and the 200 deck is amazing. I have the first year the 200 came out. It was called grizzly then and had pump and wheel motors. The next year they changed it. A dx260 is around 10,000 and a dx161 is about 7,500.00 Posted via Mobile Device |

That's not bad $10k. JD is more. Do the new Dixons have 2 wheel motors like the huskvarnas? I like that system a lot it's quick and responsive
