Redbeacon.com? Who uses it and why is it better than servicemagic?

Title says it all folks.
A nice man who spoke very little english just called and said he was looking for someone to help a customer in my area.
I called the number back (in California, I'm in MA.) and asked for more info.
He then told me exactly who he was and that he was trying to find contractors in my area to pass leads to.

Sounds like another servicemagic. I'm not thrilled with them.
What makes redbeacon better?

Thanks

I filled out a profile on Redbeacon and I'm now starting to hear radio commercials for them. In my opinion it's horrible. They don't require the homeowner to give enough information for you to be able to give an accurate estimate online so it's literally complete shot in the dark estimating. They could have a 5k square foot lot or 3 acres. They don't ever say. It's nothing but spam mail in my inbox at the moment and I'll be deleting my profile shortly.

I have had great success with them for 2 years. Yes, some homeowners do not provide enough information. However, you are allowed to just offer an onsite visit to discuss scope and price. Only one contractor is allowed to be chosen for this. You only pay for people who choose your service or a meeting. I receive 4-5 leads a day, submit bids for 1 or 2 and am chosen about once every two weeks. All the ones I have gotten are for year round complete maintenance programs in nicer parts of town.

Customer service is great. If a customer chooses you and then backs out they refund your fee very easily.

They were recently bought by Home Depot and so have the $ to advertise, provide support, and improve the functionality of the website.
