How have you calibrated your sprayer? What is the output of your spray gun? 1, 1.5, 2, 3, 4 gallon ? How do your lawns look days after you are done spraying them ? Guys at most sales dealers are just that, sales people. When you ask a question like that in an open forum, you should expect to be basted like a sunday ham |

You have not given enough information to compare and that is the problem.

2 GPM. I used 1 gallon of 3 way. No burn spots, no weeds! I was asking how to calibrate my machine nor was I asking how much product to use. Sorry if it came off that way. JDL told me guys are using 2.5 gallons of 3 way per 200 gallon tank and I though that was crazy! I started the thread to see if they were right or wrong.

Assuming Cool Season Grasses. The App Rate is up to 4 Pints per AC if I recall correctly. 2 GPM and again Assuming 2 H2O Gallons per 1000 SF You can treat 100,000. SF. There is 8 pints in a gallon so I say you are more correct based on the amount of water you apply per 1K SF It is in the math and the label. I on the other hand would use much less because of my grasses even with all other things being equal. You have to expect to get some crappie when you do not give enough info. |

So your flow rate is 2 gpm but we need to know how many sq. ft. do those 2 gallons cover. It is all about the amount of ai per 1000 sq. ft.

To answer your question, Glenn,
You are correct. The Lesco people are really off-base on this one. Did they really suggest 2.5 gallons per 200 gallon tank? If as you say, your tank covers 100,000 sqft, one gallon per tank is about right. If dealer said 2.5 gallons, (320 ounces) per tank, that would be 3.2 ounces per thousand sqft. Way over the label rate. Of course 2 gal per minute is not the same as 2 gal per thousand sqft; how many sqft per minute? Now if you walked really fast--say 3.8 mph mph--and your swath was 8 feet wide, a tank would cover about 267,520 sqft, and the rate would be correct, 1.2 ounces per thousand sqft. (And you would be spraying 3/4 gallon solution per thousand). |

I am newer to this (And i am certified for those that ask) but from what ive gathered, the guys at jdl would be correct if your were spraying 1 gallon/k. In your case if you are spraying 2 gallon/k, you would use half the concentrate because you are applying twice as much.

So to answer your question the JDL guys aren't too far off. It's really all about gallons per acre. Posted via Mobile Device |
