Sanity Check – Buying used SAG SW36-13KA

Wonder if anyone could offer their opinion on whether or not this is a good deal.

$1700
Used Scag 36"
SW36-13KA
Serial # 07540605

My concern is the dealer is telling me it is either a 2004 or 2005 and I can not match the serial number with one of the manuals on the Scag website.

Appreciate any feedback!

Not hydro, belt and no hour meter. It does include a catcher as well. The mower looks to be in good condition - no rust, new tires, springs, blades, etc...

Thanks for the quick reply.

Two years ago I bought a 2006 36" Bobcat belt drive mint/low hour so he said for $800 from a dealer in Fall. Used it for a season and sold it for $1200 in Spring. I know you can find a better value in Fall. Now, ?? Last Fall I found a 2010 36" Toro Grandstand w/ 60hrs for $3000. Sold it this Spring for $3800. Should have gotton more for that one. Just my experience. Belt drives can be a pain on small properties. I sold the above two and just use my 52" Scag on the small properties too. Keep in mind, the market for 36" is small for re-sale. I found that out with the Toro...I have a neighbor trying to unload a 34" or 36" Toro belt drive 2002 for $500. So, I think $1700 is high. I think you can buy a new belt drive Exmark for low $3s. Look at Craigslist and Ebay.
