Excavators and Skid Steers / Compact Track Loaders
What size machine is ideal for the majority of your jobs? (please let me know)
We focus on the smaller iron for landscapers. - 1 - 2 ton excavators http://bit.ly/MGOPXQ - 30 - 50 HP skid steers / compact track loaders http://bit.ly/MGOS5Y Do these machines fit your criteria? If not, please advise how we can better service your business. |

for me, not even close.
excavators between 5 and 15 ton skidsteer/compact track loader between 50-100 hp. or 3-6 ton. our stuff is used mainly for excavation work. so we adapt our equipment for smaller jobs if need be. we dont run anything that small. it would not even meet the most basic of our needs. side note we dont really rent equipment. everything we need we have. |

For landscaping i have never used anything bigger than a ASV RC60... MAYBE a Cat Articulating Compact Wheel Loader but thats for Huge (100-200yrd) Soil Jobs.
Snow is a different story!

Excavators not much use but i wouldnt bother renting anything smaller than a 3-4 ton machine, purchase nothing smaller than a 5 ton. skidsteer or track loader 50-100hp, we have a 60hp deere 319d track and a 95hp 332D skid... both serve their purposes

we rent both mini ex. and track loaders at the same time at least one day a week during spring and fall, nothing less than a 3.5 ton mini ex. and nothing less than 60hp for track loader.

mini ex with hydro thumb, and option for a smooth edge bucket, used one twice this year actually helped alot with placing large round stones for a landscaping project. also little to no tail swing. Cat 303 is what I used, wouldn't of minded one or two steps up from it.
