Question for you guys about which Amsoil
I'm currently running Royal Purple in my PZ 6034 Kawi, and I'm still in the break-in period on a new Kohler 25 on my Lazer, but I'm gonna switch to Amsoil in EVERYTHING, including all my Shindaiwa Handhelds. I really did like that Shindaiwa One 2-stroke oil, though, but lost my dealer, so I've been compromising lately, and I really can tell a difference in performance. Question is, which one of the Amsoil's should I run in the 34 Kawi and 25 Kohler. I'm sure probably any one would work, I'm going to continue to run 10w30. I guess these are the choices, and the prices shown are per quart, via amsoil.com:
SAE 10W-30 Signature Series 100% Synthetic Motor Oil Product Code: ATMQT-EA $10.15 SAE 10W-30 XL Extended Life Synthetic Motor Oil Product Code: XLTQT-EA $7.65 SAE 10W-30 OE Synthetic Motor Oil Product Code: OETQT-EA $6.10 Z-ROD 10W-30 Synthetic Motor Oil Product Code: ZRTQT-EA $9.80 I've always run Amsoil in my Yamaha VMAX's and Toyota Supras, and REALLY liked it....I've read up on it in the past and I believe it's "arguably" the best oil out there. Which one are you guys using? Would it be better to run Extended Life, but NOT extend it *smile*, or I'm kinda leaning toward the Z-ROD? Just curious what you guys recommend....I respect your opinion. Any suggestions appreciated. -David Innis |

I currently use AMSOIL products as well. I run the 4-Stroke ASE in all of my 4-stroke stuff and the Sabre Pro in all of my 2-stroke stuff. So far, so good.
http://www.amsoil.com/storefront/ase.aspx According to all of the sales material, the ZRod Seems like a good choice as well. http://www.amsoil.com/storefront/zrt.aspx Why AMSOIL instead of something else??? Heck, I don't know. It makes me feel good. I picked one and stuck with it. I wish I had a Petrochemical Engineering buddy who could set me straight and seperate all of the marketing BS from the science of it. I have given up trying. Q |

http://www.amsoil.com/storefront/ase.aspx is the oil that Amsoil recommends to be used in small engines such as those we have on our lawn mowers. Why not go with their suggested oil? Seems like a no brainer to me and I've been using it ever since it came out for mowers and been using their 2 stroke oils since 97 or so.
