Toro mower blade not fully engaging
I have a toro commercial 21" mower. It is a 22177TE self prop. Today while cutting grass I could hear the blade slowing down and the cut went to crap. I put in neutral and slowly pushed it and the blade was still slowing down. The engine runs fine and has no trouble.
Is the belt shot? Is there a tension adjustment for the belt? Jamie |

I don't know if all of that model are BBC's or not but the one that I had a look at was. Remove the blade and the BBC cover on the bottom side. My guess is that there is accumulated grass/debris that is blocking full engagement of the BBC engagement arm. Not going to second guess that and say that it could be a weak belt but check for the debris and you can check the belt at the same time. I saw a lot of that condition on the older homeowner BBC's.
