Just added a new feature to my site! on quote request, I get a text!
As you all know, it's pretty competitive out there right now. I decided I need to do something to improve my response times so I changed my "get a quote" section so that it sends my phone a text message when a prospect hits the button rather than sending me an email.
I feel pretty stoked about this. take a look and tell me what you think.

Quote:
Form data can be output in several ways, sending the data in an email being one of them. Most cell providers support a feature that lets you send an email that is recieved as a text on your phone. Posted via Mobile Device |

Depending on your service and phone, you may want to play with things such as subject and the format of the message to make it easy to read on your phone. I can only confirm Verizon and T-Mobile ones as they are ones I currently use on an app. (and de-confim Alltel, as it was bought out by Verizon, but I love my grandfathered data contract that came with the merge that you can't get from verizon)
AT&T – cellnumber@txt.att.net Verizon – cellnumber@vtext.com T-Mobile – cellnumber@tmomail.net Sprint PCS - cellnumber@messaging.sprintpcs.com Virgin Mobile – cellnumber@vmobl.com US Cellular – cellnumber@email.uscc.net Nextel - cellnumber@messaging.nextel.com Boost - cellnumber@myboostmobile.com Alltel – cellnumber@message.alltel.com -Greg |

And with just a little over 12 hours with the feature live, booked a new client.

Nice addition, Goat. Glad to see people implementing available technology to better respond to customers. With the advent of email apps for phones, I'm seeing more requests for bundled email and text integrated notifications. It's the same exact message, it just bullies/reminds the business owner to get back to a customer asap.
Quick responses go a very long way in sales closing, even if it's just to stop mowing and reply with a quick, but personal, "Thanks for contacting us regarding the landscape install, Mr. Smith. Currently with a customer, but will get back to you this evening."

Or you could just get a smart phone and have full access to all emails at anytime....
I hate having information in different areas, then when you go to look it up you can't remember if it was a text, email , whatever. |
