Zero Turn with best cut and features?
Hey everyone, with my new company I am in the market for Zero Turn Mowers. It needs a 72 inch deck. Here are my top five choices:
John Deere Z970A Exmark Lazer Z X Series Hustler Super Z (The new one that just came out) Toro Z-Master G-3 Kubota ZG332 They are all GREAT MOWERS, I demoed everyone and loved em all. I need your opinion. Which one is the toughtest? I know they all leave a great cut, so which one will stripe the best without a kit? Any comments appreciated. Thank you -Andrew

Well I can't speak for any except the kubota and the super z. I just bought a new 37 hp 60" super z and it cut much better than my old kubota. My kubota had the older formed deck not the new pro deck. I can't see much difference in the two but to me the new kubotas didn't cut well enough to buy another one. Now the diesel kubotas are built really well and will last forever if taken care of, but there is much more productivity with the super z. As for striping it depends more on the conditions and grass type, my kubota with a kit stripes a little better than the hustler without a kit.

Ok, thank you! I'm leaning towards the Hustler! the 37HP is a great engine for me too! Do you like it alot?

If you cut in wet conditions like me your list can be cut down to the JD. Top 3 for cut quality in my opinion are scag, gravely and JD in no particular order. You seriously need to add scag and gravely to your list and demo asap!

I already have, Scag was nice, but was way out of my price range. The Lazer Z might even be too much. I'm either going with John Deere vs Hustler.

Ok, I've narrowed it down to the John Deere Z970A and Toro Z-Master G-3.

Tough decision, huh. The truth is you'll likely be happy with either of them, just pick the one that you like the best.

Does the Hustler have the chute discharge block on it. I looked at the JD yesterday and it has one. That is a nice feature for several reasons.

Did the JD you looked at have an actual chute blocker on it, or was it the MOD deck?

I'm not sure, what is the difference between the standard 7 iron deck on the Deere and the MOD deck? I'm confused as heck.
