Did something stupid today....

actually more of a weird accident. I mowed over top of a pvc sewer cap in a yard I was mowing. The cap was well below cut height but my front/center anti-scalp wheel caught it....it bent the wheel back towards the rear of the mower and then the blade caught it. Long story short...the blade is free from hitting the deck, but the anti scalp wheel has been bent so much that it drags on the ground. It needs to come up a good inch or two.

Any ideas on how to remedy this? I tried bending it back, but no luck.

Could I remove the wheel and arms that hold it?

Other ideas?

A pic would really help to show your situation.

Yes, you can remove it but you'll have to compensate for lack of anti-scalp wheel.
Might try a crowbar first.

Are the arms replaceable?
If so I'd remove the wheel and the arms.
Order up new arms.
And use the mower as is until the order arrives.

I'll get a pic tomorrow morning....can't stand to look at the thing for another second.

Made some progress, but the roller still sits on the ground instead of being raised up 1/2" or so off the ground like it's suppose to be.

As far as the arms go...they're welded on. I actually thought if I can't get it to bend back to the way it's suppose to be I could remove the wheel and cut the arms back, rebore some holes and attach the wheel since the arms are long enough.

Must me a home owner mower.

I've mangled steel water shut offs with not a scratch on the mower. Just keep right on mowing.

it's not. it's an older toro commercial.

It wasn't the deck that was the issue, it was anti-scalp wheel that got caught on it as I was driving over it....with the force it caused, the wheel bent in and caused the deck to bend too.

Put some heat to it and straighten it out.

Like Clark said, put the wheel on a concrete block, add heat from the gas axe, pound it down with a sledge hammer. Wait until cool, repaint.

Yep, heat it up and pound it into submission.
