That part below the root zone in Kril's picture is what most builders leave us. There is construction debris, leveled with sand and then covered with sod.

There are roots throughout that pic. The well aggregated part is a result of years of compost additions with core aeration every 3 years. This area of the site however is a nightmare for water management.

I did notice the deep roots. It does take time to "look" at the soil and improve it.

I bet you were picked on in school (hence your lack of humor and the fact you take everything so seriously)...chill out, have a beer or 10.

You posted a picture of d grade soil and I commented about it...take a joke...turn sarcasm meter on.

Nothing wrong about being 100% clear or frustrated when on this topic since it one of many like it that seems to go round and round.

I am just glad he is still contributing.

I know smallaxe aggravates some folks but he does have a way with words and humor...seems knowledeable too. It seems these two always duke it out with the only one getting his panties in a wad is kiril. I just get tired of the puffed chest know it all replies...100 years in soil science, irrigation master...sand and clay make concrete.

Ya know...my father is a soil scientist or classifier. He said its mostly an educated guess. But I guess if that's the only thing you have to grasp into in life you take it very seriously. Since my father is also a PE and RLS he doesn't have only soil science to fall on.

Small Ax is trying to learn and has some knowledge but is a little wreckless with it and some of his assumptions. Kril I think is frustrated because he gives good info and it is twisted or ignored.

There is no doubt in my mind who has the most knowledge and experiance here regarding soil and it is not me. There is also no doubt who I can learn the most from and it is not Small Ax or Skip. Yes they both bring something to the forum. Everyone does.

Small Ax ask the questions to get the forum going so for that I am thankful too.

Kril also has a great deal of knowledge about irrigation too. I am not sure what else.

CGA,

Time and time again, over years of posting on this site, I have attempted to help point axe in the right direction in a courteous manner to only have it end up being thrown back in my face with some ridiculous rant about how research and universities can't be trusted, people with an education have no common sense ..... blah, blah, blah. You know, the typical bullshiit you get from people who have limited knowledge of the subjects they pretend to be experts on (AKA standing on weak branches that can't support their weight).

Further, by all appearances, axe has become a soils and irrigation "expert" overnight. IMO, many (not all) of axe's posts miss the boat entirely and do more damage than good for people who are looking for answers/solutions and/or trying to learn something about the field they work in. Now if you want to buy into axe's incoherent ramblings and "science" that is your business, and you do so at your own risk.

Also, you might want to ask your dad to explain the difference between soil and dirt, you know, him being a "soil scientist or classifier" and all.
