Nut Grass In Flowers
Didn't I see a "ding ding ding" advertisement for a nut grass chemical with some type of applicator for single blades? At the time I thought it was stupid but I need something in flower beds that have drip.

Okay here is what I plan to do. I am mixing up a small bottle with certainy and use a ear swab to put it on the nut grass. What do you think?

I have done paint on applications with Prosedge(halosulfuron) in flower beds. Certainty scares me when it is applied in areas not containing tolerant ornamentals. Most SU herbicides are persistent in soil and move downward. Certainty has a long list of vegetation it affects. Prosedge is limited to nutsedge and a few other weeds.

Annuals and herbaceous perennials are the very types of plants most sensitive to sedge herbicides. In that case, I would wait until the nutsedge is sending up seed spikes and paint 30% RoundUp on the nutsedge. You can also try a shielded spray nozzle applying 5%.
