Pretty brutal, I have moved to bi-weekly on most of my lawns with mowing. Did an estimate with a guy last night and the yard was so burnt and dormant I was wondering if I would cut it more then 2 times the rest of the season. Luckly a few have irrigation.

Maybe they are too old and forgot about 1988.

We didn't have a/c then. That summer my dad bought a new truck that had it. We would just drive around for awhile to cool off. It was just plain old miserable. The grass looked like it does in march after the snow melts. All brown, even the weeds. It was so dry he had to combine corn in august, normally its October.

Its awful, I have officially moved just about everyone to bi weekly

Here in cincy it feels like weeks since it last rained. Checked the 10 day, no rain in sight and every day 90+ including 2 days of 100+.

So, about that edging we talked about doing.........

Also, just looked it up, 1 inch of rain in June, nice!

Yesterday in 1980 it was 113 degrees, yesterday we hit 106 and this is the earliest to hit 106 except you got it, 1980.
All time record for us yesterday at 105 but a little cooler today 102. It is still a lot better than last year. I guess we might as well hunker down for about the next 2 or 3 months. So far the lake is holding so no further restrictions on watering. If you use drip we can water away any time.

I must be living on a totally different planet... We don't get any "summer rain" here to speak of [ever]. If we get any rain during summer months, it's no more than 2 tiny rain clouds that pass by quickly. When this rain happens, it just seems weird to us.

[PAUSE]

Now that I think about it, it's no wonder California is so friggin dry and brown during the summer. Oh well, at least it's not humid :-p

About 40 years ago I went to San Diego for a business trip and thought it odd that they watered along the highways. Where do you get your water? I would assume water is costly?

Much of our Humidity is from the swimming pools, water features, irrigation, man made lakes, and water cooled HVAC's.

Much of our humidity is from corn and soybeans.
