how to price install of trees
i got 10 crape mertle to install 25 apart from each other. this would be my first big install. My guy at the wholesale nursery said i should bid them 3 times the plant installed, labor warranty everything.
Does that sound right? let me know your suggestions. |

That is a rule of thumb that some people use. Some figure it's two times the plant cost.
Personally, I like to add up all of the variables involved and arrive at a better estimate. Every job is going to be different. I think knowing your costs and the cost of each portion of the task you are estimating is a better way to do things. |

i obviously know my costs but say this takes me a day works overhead plus cost of plants mulch etc. but then i could bid it per job and make 2000 more. i already ran the numbers and thats what it would be at.

Wow, that 's nice change.
If you think it's fair for the job and what's involved, and you got a good read on the client and think he'll agree to it, then I'll be a jealous man. |

What size are they? Takes longer to plant B&B than a 5 gallon pot

I typically price them by size and something for replacement cost and profit. I do not think you would lose them all.

30 gallon 8-10 ft they are 195 a pop including tax. 585 installed with one year warrenty x 10, they are going to be spread out 25 feet apart. 5850 total to put in 10 of them.
if i did 10 ft hvy b&b 1102.5 per tree installed. installed price includse mulch soil amdendments extra. let me know what you all think, not asking for your prices, just seeing if that sounds right. |

Every job vary from other in minor details that may effect the cost, its better to analyze everything before and then provide an estimate.
