16.8 oz of 20-0-0 50% slow per 1000 sf.(1/4 lb of n per app) so far 1 lb of n has been applied on my lawns through multiple applications and a 1/4 lb. of that was 75%slow. . just not seeing good growth and color this season like when i was doing granular fert! i talked it over with my fert sales man and he said double up on the fert! i am possibly going back to granular fert. whats your guys feelings on this?

1/4 # N seems light to me.
What Granular were you using? I have asked about Fert in this and Perma Green machines before and it seem like most people use them for weeds. Some said no iron either so I will stick with the skid for now.... I am interested in hearing more about the Z spray and fert / iron. |

Spreading 24' wide swath, i can cover ground faster than spraying.

Urea N is not the only thing that grass needs to be green. I want K, S, Fe, Mg, Mn, Cu,,Zn, and P if indicated by a soil test. Different sources of N produce a different green as well. I find that urea N produces a yellowy green unless applied in severe excess, then it gets grass green and makes it over grow.

I found that with more carrier we had better results out of the z spray. We started spraying at 1.5 gallons per k last year. which is what we spray out of our skid and had great results. the lawns showed color faster and lasted just as long with the liquid vs granular.
As far as going faster because you spread 24' wide. spreading that wide isnt happening around here on residentials and what we might lose in application time by going liquid we make up for by not having to blow any hard surfaces off. That being said, we switched our liquid program this year to 1/4 to 1/2 lb N per app mixed with organics. The price is the same for material as using all granular and no cleanup saves labor. Our lawns look just as good if not better than last year doing it this way. Green doc is right about only using N and no other macro or micro nutrients in the program. While we only use N, the organics have all the necessary good guys to just about make up for all of the other aspects. We still soil test to see if we need to adjust anything, but we only soil test if something doesnt look right. Good luck Ant, pm me if you want. Bryan

On residentials we still push a spreader. Z only on wide open spaces at that spread width.

I've been looking into liquid fertilizer apps since I like to blanket apply my weed control.
Can anyone provide the links to the tank mixes you use? There arent any guys in mu area who use liquids and my dealer isnt much help because of that. Any links to fertilizers, N, K, micro packages would be a huge help. Posted via Mobile Device |

Custom blend from raw materials. That is what I do. Many of the complaints about liquids being expensive or not working stem from the wrong material for the job being used. There are many RTU liquids $$$$$$$ on the market, but those are for use in a 14 day spray program on golf greens. There is also urea triazone or methylene urea liquids and blends based on that. However, you know what I think of urea. It is not the be all and do all for lawn fertilization.
