Newbie Questions

Greetings, all...

I bought my first zero-turn and couldn't be happier with my choice of a Hustler Fastrak (54"). I also couldn't be happier that Hustler support a forum, as this is the best kind of advice.

With that said...

1) Is there any reason that a "cherry picker" would not work to lift the unit for deck cleaning? I have been offered a fairly new one that was used to pull an engine from a car once. The tripod is included in his $150 asking price.

2) Any recommendations on a decent torque wrench? It does not have to be of Snap-on quality... but I'd rather have something decent than to have something that is junk.

3) Can you only buy new accessories and new parts from your local dealer... or does Hustler offer some sort of direct ship service?

4) This might sound like a silly question... but I am someone who hoses off my machine after each use. I've heard folks say that this is good and others say that this is bad. Those that say bad argue that the machine will rust out quicker because I am not drying it completely before putting it away. Thoughts?

Thanks for your time!

1) A cherry picker will work also, many dealerships still lift mowers this way.

2) Craftsman brand is easily available and a reasonable price, also NAPA has tools at reasonable prices.

3) We only sell though our dealer network, we do not sell to the end user, sorry.

4) I would try and stick to blowing it off with a blower or air compressor, if your using water do not use high pressure in areas near bearings, spindles etc....
I would try and dry it as much as possible before storage.
