I was turned off to using them because the salesman told me with his deep core aeration and sand topdressing my Bermuda lawn would than have 18" roots...Id be willing to bet(I've seen it personally) that Bermuda roots will go several feet...without sand...without topdressing. Cut the BS.

I understand everyone has to make a living but to sell someone that line of trash got me.

Weird part was, 3 yards 10% 4 yards 20%. I was taken back by that break a little.

I have considered doing the same thing mowing on the same street, the guys could likely mow a 4th house in the time it takes to load up 3 times and move 1/2 mile between house.

Ive thought about biting the bullet, taking a chance and lowballing an entire neighborhood. I just get scared.

From 10-20% is a big difference...they wouldn't do 20% if they weren't making a 2-2.5 multiplier.

You and me both... Keeping track of the billing could be a pain too. I have played with the idea, looked at setting up billing rates and such.

Clearly, more houses on one street would save time and expense.

The way to do this is likely through promotions to existing customers or targeted flyers. saying, we mow here already so if ....

Might even ask the customer if you can referance them but not ask them to market for you.

I do not run with the crew.... I do irrigation repairs, bidding and the back office. The goal obviously it is to make more money not less but be fair to the clients as well.

I know for a fact that in ate neighborhood I am thinking about doing this in that if you estimated te lawn as one single account they would go for $35-$55 rotary mowing...the same good also has very many reel mowing houses...at likely double this rate. So if you could market the entire community at $35-$45 per lawn(rotary only), no driving or minimal at worst you could do well...this particular community has thousands of homes.

I would probably need something different then. My yard is pretty small and would require a lot of turning around.



Backyard is a little bigger and more open. 50 ft wide by about 30ish deep.

Having a drive clutch is the best because you can slip it. You can also get handlebar squeeze clutch handle for trucut.
