What speed feed head for Husqvarna 326LS? AND... cranking it?

I purchased a 326LS and have used it a couple of days now. While I love how lite it is and it has plenty of power for most weekly residential jobs, I absolutely hate the head on this thing. It is the worst I have EVER used. Yeah, it feeds fined, but it grabs the ground and does not glide smoothly... and it is too high off the ground for how I trim. I have to lean it over too far to get it to cut low and then it wants to grab the ground and scalp. The speed feed head I have on my other trimmer is soooo much better and smoother... and just the right height for cutting quickly. At any rate, I tried my Echo Speed-Feed 450 head and could not get it to fit. What speed feed head do you guys recommend for it?

I also find the 326LS aggravating to crank. I am not sure if maybe I just got a bad one or if I am not using the right combo in cranking. I followed the manual instructions on cranking, but it still takes 5-6 pulls to get it to crank. I crank my Echo in one pull most of the time... max is two pulls. Is this normal for the 326LS?

Thanks!

Interesting... As I was about to walk by the 326 today I stopped, pumped the bubble several times, choked it, and one pull cranked it.

Buy a universal speedfeed and it will have the right adaptor in it.

There is an Oregon 55-265 that appears to have some adapters included, but I would appreciate someone confirming it will fit. It looks like the same adapters that came with my Echo Speed Feed head, which do not fit.

The 375 speed feed head must have a black round doughnut type disk
addapter it is the size of a sliver dollar. not sure if you get this at home depote if so look for it in the packet. as for cranking the 326 have your dealer adjust carb for easyer cranking!

I have a black donut type washer with the 450 Echo head, but it does not fit the 326LS.

You trimmer should start on the 1st or 2nd pull. I've been running huskys since 08 and they all start on the 2nd pull.

Yep. I have husky and echo handhelds, plus a stihl chainsaw. My husky bp blower and back up trimmer start the easiest. When I bought my stihl chainsaw a few months ago I knew going in that starting it would be a battle, the performance out weighs this flaw. On the other hand my newer echo edger is starting to anoy me, as it is used quite frequently. It is hard to start and needs time to warm up. My dealer looked at it and said that is the norm for that stick edger. As the echo stuff wears out I may be swapping out to all husky.

It may be that the Echo Speed Feed head has a different size washer than the universal speed feed heads.
