Echo 265-t Trimmer Question

On the rotary carburetor, there are two connections for fuel lines,

which one is the fuel filter side ?

Please SomeOne Respond.

To be honest, I don't remember but all you should have to do is hook the fuel line to one of them. Operate the primer and if it pumps fuel out of the other nipple on the carb--you've found it.

Put you face down near the tubew and push the primer bulb and you can see which one has air coming out. The tube with air coming out is not the fuel line tube.

Very smart move on that there dutch1.

That makes sense.

The durn thing has a new kit in it but it runs rough. New plug and new fuel filter along with fuel line. It runs better with the choke on. Clean screen on the muffler side and also in the carburetor.

When you installed the new kit did you make sure you got gaskets/diagphrams back on in the proper order. If you installed a new inlet needle you should adjust the metering lever to the proper height. A metering lever tool for the brand of carb you have is helpful. You can check www.zamacarb.com or www.walbro.com for further info.

Depending on the age of the unit, it may be necessary to check for carbon buildup in the exhaust port--to check that it will be necessary to remove the muffler. A lot of the time, oily buildup around the muffler exit is a tell tale sign of a plugged antispark screen or partially blocked exhaust port.

If the carb is cleaned thorughly and if the gaskets/diagphrams are installed properly with no blockage of the exhaust port, I'd take a look at the metering lever height.
